CURRENT EVENT: Great Advertisement SHOUTOUT!

This advertisement was a social media advertisement campaign that took the internet by storm this past November (2023). On November 16th, hip-hop star Snoop Dogg (who is well known for his love for a usage of marijuana- I even read he hires a personal blunt roller, whom he pays approximately $50k per year!) posted to his Instagram and Twitter X accounts, stating he is “giving up smoke”. Fans were shocked!

Turns out it was just a marketing stunt to advertise his partnership with Solo Stove to advertise their smokeless stove! His short video advertisement with Solo Stove was dropped on November 20th.

Four days thinking Snoop Dogg was no longer smoking marijuana! At the end it was made known that this was not the case.

This was a great usage of influencer partnerships and social media marketing, as it caused a great uproar leading up to the drop of the advertisement itself. This campaign gained tremendous traction even before the advertisement was released, resulting in a great amount of viewer interaction.
